Hi guys, it has come to my attention that no one wants a new forum or cares to vote or has been inactive, but I'll make this one more productive, simple and straight forward.
List the things you would wish to be changed (added/removed) to the existing forum (or added to the new forum).
This way we can see what features would actually be useful to everyone, and how many people have similar interests of features, and what should fundamentally be changed about the forum to increase efficiency.
+ ease of changing the avatar from this website without logging into the Gravatar website
+ having an avatar specifically for this forum and not enforced upon every other website which uses the Gravatar system where the same email has been assigned
+ Notifications through Inbox rather than through e-mail
+ Ability to contact individual Chase Ace Dev. Team without using the STP e-mail
+ Troubleshooting help with certain people, 1-on-1 without needing to add users to other forms of instant messaging or disclosing unnecessary information
+ Contacting moderators/admins about certain forum issues that specific individuals may be experiencing
+ Make a certain text clear to users with sizing.
+ Improving the visual quote without using blockquote anymore, this is an easy one so no dramas.
+ Hopefully also live images (limited amount per post?), this will prevent people from clicking to off-site links or URL shorteners which may lead to a dead link, or a malicious link, most people also won't bother clicking on images when they're in a link based on statistics.
+ Put the forum categories at the top rather than the bottom
+ Limit the "most popular posts" by 5-10 at the very top or side (or bottom)
+ More forums for necessary discussion
+ Ability to sticky posts, these posts usually stay at the top no matter how old they are, generally important posts which everyone should read or is very popular and would save others time.
+ Enhanced searching, this isn't too fundamental at the moment but it could be useful for people finding things faster in certain forums, or by certain users, or based on certain dates.
+ Perhaps attachments, rather than off-loading users to paid file sharing websites such as (RapidShare, Megaupload, Hotfile etc.) which is mainly used to gain points/money in turn of "free" download users, also easier for viruses to infect users. These sites generally contain a wait time also, while attachments can allow easy downloading to the user, direct/resumable downloads, easy access, no wait time, feeling safe not downloading from file sharing websites.
Well you pretty much said everything, but... An ingame profile viewer, shows all stats and achievements. User can clear them. (If you decide to make it in the game)
Are you talking about during gameplay? or just inside the game where you can chat etc.?
Well if you're talking about in gameplay, Hopefully the game stores the stats in a central database inside the game rather than being retrieved via HTTP, so each time a player joins it can quickly grab the data and display on demand without making a connection to the web.
Otherwise should be easily done just inside the game without gameplay.
Both? Oh and user could turn private mode on. And another thing, friend adding. And a friends only mode for profile viewing, an option for password protected servers, and friend games. (Friends only)
I guess that's a good idea, yeah I speculate there will be a friends system based on the middleware used in Spatifo. And damn you beat me by 60 seconds to post the password protected servers/friend only idea haha, that would be very useful! ie. keeping out unwanted users, strict 2v2 or 3v3 etc. for balanced team matches without randoms joining etc. +1
