December 9th: The Music of Chase Ace

by 2 Comments

Today’s Media Gift

Today, we’re not giving you a picture, but a preview of one of the potential tracks for Chase Ace. The track is “Birth of a Detonation” by talented musician and sound designer Rasmus Hartvig Boye.

Listen to it loud and with headphones!

This track in many ways embodies the style we’re aiming for when creating a unique soundscape for the Chase Ace universe. It’s a diverse clash of electronic and organic sounds, of different ethnic music styles, of deep electro-bass, twangy surf-guitars, big japanese taiko drums and general kick-assness.

Today’s Media Gift

Today’s Media Gift is a piece of explosive concept art by Carsten Brandt.

Notice how rough the strokes are, and how little detail work is actually needed, when you master light like Carsten does.

A heavy gun. KAAA… BLOOOOEEHH

Today’s Info Gift

This gun is actually too big for the current prototype tech: The rounds it fires fly above the heads of fighters, leaving it practically harmless. This will change obviously…

A simple 3d model is built in SketchUp. Cuts and lines are added to the basic geometric shape to create different areas in the 3d mesh. Some areas are inset to give the light something to play with. Next (tomorrow) basic textures will be added…
