Interview from Way Back

We just stumbled upon an old interview with Tobias on GameSpot.

Almost every feature, weapon, and detail in Chase Ace 2 has been designed as a result of playing it. Development started with no fixed schedule, and we just added features as we went along. You could say that we created the game because we needed the game ourselves. It kind of grew out of [us] playing it.

That pretty much sums up both the process and the end result…

In the long run, we hope to be able to make Chase Ace 3. This project demands a significantly more structured development process if it is to live up to our own expectations. And more money.

…Interesting?

  1. Karmeck says:

Maybe some one should contact gamespot again and they can make a new preview.
And now some news on the demo plz.

  2. Peter says:

Maybe we’ll contact some of the sites that reviewed the game back in 2000. Good idea. No news on the demo yet. Soon! ;)

  3. WTF says:

What’s going on!? I think chase ace 2 should be free. Sorry… No one buy it anymore, because new generetion engines like Unreal Engine 3 or CryEngine 2 is too powerful for that simple game. Think about it…

  4. Peter says:

    @ WTF:
I agree, people who care much about engines and polygons won’t buy Chase Ace 2. For many reasons. Still, it’s quite evident that games like Chase Ace 2 have an audience. Anyway, we’ll think about it…

  5. Karmeck says:

Peter, you ppl are making a good game the guy above is from an other audienc don’t bother with him, but put up Chaseace 1 and some might be quiet.

  6. Prospero says:

I agree with Karmeck. There will always be people that are only interested in the graphical side of things – if that’s what “floats their boat”, so to speak, then so be it. But don’t let that distract you!

I’m ready and willing to buy Chase Ace Deluxe the minute it’s released if you folks have indeed beaten the “overflow” crash bug. And I’ll keep hoping that one day you might even add online multiplayer capability… :)

  7. Peter says:

Karmeck, Prospero, Thanks for the support. We won’t be distracted, don’t worry :)

  8. Shay Tall says:

We’re counting on you and the team, peter. :D

  9. Shay Tall says:

Is there some kind of release date known yet? That would make the waiting easier :P

  10. Wilco says:

Yea! make it free it’s a funny game but it’s also ugly!

  11. Karmeck says:

Chase Ace 2 is not an ugly game it has an unique style and feel to it and the way it looks play in to that feel. It is (to me at least) a classic and like Doom (1 or 2) the look don’t matter, it is fun to play any way.

  12. Valle says:

We need a release date, ive waited for this game for many many years, and now im getting restless :)

  13. Valle says:

    Not much happening here……………

  14. Joe says:

Will there be a free update from Chase Ace 2 to Deluxe?
